La Boca

La Boca: lighters at a stone quay in daylight, after Quinquela Martín's Pleno sol.

The Carp Streamer

The Carp Streamer: a woodblock print after Hiroshige's Suidō Bridge and Surugadai, carp flying over Edo in the music's wind. This might be our favorite in all of CadenceViz... so far.

The Copper Kitchen

The Copper Kitchen: a farmhouse kitchen at dusk, firelit, a rank of copper pans by the hearth. A kettle is on the boil, its steam pulses with the music and rooks fly past your window. After Chardin.

The Delft Room

The Delft Room: a Dutch room of about 1665. After Vermeer and de Hooch. A painting found nowhere else.

The Dutch Lace

The Dutch Lace: a scene from a weaver of Dutch Lace. The curtain is blown by your music as are the bobbins on the weaver's lace pillow. After Vermeer.

The Long Water

The Long Water: a manor's garden, a still basin with a fountain at its middle lies between clipped yews, a summer morning with the mist in the distance. After Claude Lorrain.

The Night Office

The Night Office: a detective's office at two in the morning in 1947. A hotel's neon sign shows your music through the office's blinds. After Hopper.

The Papyrus Marsh

Papyrus Marsh: after the anonymous Green Room painters at Amarna, preserved by Nina and Norman de Garis Davies. Reeds and kingfishers dance in this sparse but elegant painting.

The Parasol

The Parasol: a woman in white on a grassy rise against a summer sky, her veil flutters in music-driven breeze. We added some dancing kites for good measure. After Monet.

The Plunge

The Plunge: a municipal swimming bath of the late 1920s in the still of night, lit only from under its water and occasional lightning. Your music makes it move. After Hopper.

The Spanish Lace

The Spanish Lace: a black lace mantilla over the back of a walnut chair, its comb on the seat, lit by candle. A child's top spins to your music. After Zurbarán.
